  • Digital X-ray

What it is: A common, quick, and painless medical imaging test that uses a small amount of radiation to create immediate digital images of the inside of your body, most commonly bones and organs.

How it’s done: You will be positioned by a technologist on a table or in front of a digital detector plate. The X-ray machine sends a brief burst of radiation through your body. You won’t feel anything during the exposure, but you’ll need to hold very still for a few seconds.

Time: 5-15 minutes total.
